Are you ever afraid to look in the mirror? To take a shower? To change your clothes?
Anything that makes me pay attention to my body is a minefield now. I don't know what to do.

A mouse in a house of catcalls

I'm right there with you. I find a well placed towel over the mirror in the bathroom and candles instead of overhead lights make things MUCH easier. But I have removed all full length mirrors from my house for now. I wish I had some words of wisdom for you, but instead I'll just offer commiseration.
Yeah, all the time. I can look at small parts, but not the whole thing at once.
I too wish that I could offer your words of wisdom, but I also am hopeful for everyone that recovery is possible and that your body won't be a source of fear, shame and loathing but something to respect and celebrate.
You are going through so many changes - uncertainty and anxiety abound.
I hope that you CAN find some place of solace these days, whether it is a physical place or an activity that allows you to be okay with yourself.
I know it. I have days when I avoid even small mirrors and don´t wear glasses or contacts in the bathroom. My therapist says always: try to look at yourself as you were your sister or you were looking at one of your sisters. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not.
I am sure better days will come Lisa! Try to stay stable in these complicated days, try to look forwad to better days. Do something really nice to yourself please, you deserve it!
