I am That Girl

Yep. I am That Girl. You know. That one. The one who stayed up really late last night (and is up late again) and got up at five. That girl who drank two enormous energy drinks that tasted like your tightwad neighbor's stale Halloween candy. That girl who just got so goddamn frustrated when she couldn't get a straight answer about what had to be done. The girl who just got more and more stressed out until something had to give. The girl whose body decided to deal with the stress by crying. In front of nineteen other people and two of her supervisors.

Not a good day. Not at all. I'm eating too much and I can't keep my tear ducts in check.

But tomorrow will be better. It has to be. Right?

I don't know if it's just me, but energy drinks elevate my anxiety a lot. Allow yourself to have bad days and stress out sometimes. It's better to cry than to go completely nuts.

And you are That Girl who is doing something incredible for others, who is teaching kids and giving them something of herself despite dealing with ed and her fears.

I hope you have nice and understanding people around you, they are teachers so they understand that everything can´t be perfect from the very beginning and that crying is something natural, some sign, something you should not be ashamed for. Actually I had to learn myself to cry and I think it is good "skill".

Your body can control its weight and your eyes and soul need to cry sometimes. Don´t worry Lisa. I think today was certainly better, wasn´t it? Hugs

oh, that just sounds awful. I feel for you. I really like what ola said; couldn't have said it better.

And why do energy drinks always taste like Smarties?

I'm gonna have to agree with Ola, too, Lisa. Yes, there is tomorrow, but there is also the rest of today. We are a feisty bunch, and no one will keep our spirits down! Keep moving forward - I believe in you.

(((hugs)))

Hope today is better.

Right now, you have a lot of transition going on, and you're dealing with it the best you can. Be gentle with yourself.

I hope today was better. It happens to all of us, and maybe everyone wanted to cry and they were all relieved to see that someone else is under stress as well.

I just came across your blog and wanted to say, hang in there! I am a kindergarten teacher (of 5 years) and I remember crying (in front of co-workers and supervisors) for much of my first two years. I promise it gets easier and you are doing a FANTASTIC JOB!!!!
